Kamel Bouraba, Artisan
Sidi Hassine Entenne, Tunisia

  • Kamel started with a 200 TND group loan and eventually graduated to individual loan (currently has 1,500 TND loan).
  • He prefers the individual loan to group because the group loans were too small to meet his growing business needs.
  • Kamel makes sculptures – he brings a specialist to design the mold, and then he makes the rest.
  • No employees now.
  • Kamel works with his two brothers, and one of them has an employee.
  •  Not married, no kids.
  • His dream is to grow his business and begin to export outside of Tunisia (to places like France).  He recently met a French tourist who visited his factory and bought some pieces from him.  He has taken his things (by louage) to Sousse, Sfax, and Hammamet, but he needs a car to increase his product distribution.
