The Initiative forms strategic partnerships with MFIs in the region to have a direct impact on improving the capacity of regional practitioners and provide more in-depth support. This support is jointly determined by the MFI and the Initiative and depends on the needs and capabilities of the MFI. The Initiative currently boasts five partners and one affiliate in four different countries in the region. These partners represent a mixture of “seedbed” partners that are younger and smaller in outreach and “high growth” partners that are more mature and are expanding a more rapid rate. The Initiative partners with a variety of institutions, both in terms of location and size, in order to support MFIs at all stages and develop the capacity of the sector across the Pan-Arab world.
